Construction Update - December 2011

The construction crew has been working on classroom carpet installation as well as preparing for installation of resilient flooring in the commons and corridors. Overhead A/V projectors are now in place and connected. Finish hardware has been delivered and erection of the steel handrails is underway. Water repellents and anti-graffiti coatings have been applied. Over the next month, crews will complete site landscaping and interior finishes, and commissioning of the mechanical systems will begin.

This project is funded by Seattle Public Schools Building Excellence III (BEX III) bond program, which was approved by Seattle voters in 2007.


Construction Update - November 2011

The green roof installation, rain garden, and east and south parking lot improvements are all complete. Classroom bulletin boards and white boards have been installed. Work is also finished on the street improvements at Ashworth Ave. N and N. 135th St.

Work continues on site landscaping and interior finishes, and mechanical systems are being commissioned.

The interior walls are being painted. Landscaping and installation of the green roof is in progress. The off-site storm sewer is complete and the on-site rain gardens are being installed. South and east parking lot improvements are complete as well as the street improvements on Ashworth Ave. N and N. 135th Street.

In October, work continues on the remaining site work, including the new entry. Progress is being made on the interior finishes. The power and gas is being connected to the new addition.

In August, roof installation was completed and interior walls painting was underway. The off-site storm sewer work has been finished, and street improvements on Ashworth Ave. N and N 135th Street are nearly done. Work was also completed on the south parking lot improvements.

In September, street improvements, entries installation and driveway work will be completed. Landscaping will be installed, and work will continue on interior finishes.

Construction Update - July 2011

Structural steel work is complete and decking and roofing will soon be added. Five portables were relocated to the basketball court, and underground utilities work continues.

Construction Update - June 2011

Steel work is underway at Ingraham High School

May work included completion of the foundations, concrete walls and elevator shaft. Erection of the steel has begun. Parking lot improvements began and some portables have been demolished. Offsite storm sewer work is in progress.

During June, structural steel work will continue and is expected to be complete by the end of the month.

Construction Update - May 2011

In April, the contractor completed site clearing and mass excavation, finished installing the storm water line, and completed the foundations. Some building walls were also completed. Work began on parking lot improvements and demolition of some portables. Over the next month, erection of the structural steel components will begin.

Construction Update - April 2011

Construction of foundations continues

In March, the new sewer and storm water lines were completed. Foundations have been poured and work will continue through April. Additional work over the next month will include underground plumbing and electrical, and miscellaneous excavation.

Over the next month, the contractor will continue work on the foundations, sewer, underground plumbing and storm drains.

Construction Update - March 2011

Work is underway on foundations and walls for the addition

In February 2011, site clearing and excavation continued. Sound boards were installed in classroom windows adjoining the addition. New sewer installation is underway and foundations have been poured. A new safe walking route for students has been implemented and tree protection fencing installed.

Over the next month, the contractor will continue work on the foundations, sewer, underground plumbing and storm drains.

Construction Update - February 2011

Excavation began at Ingraham High School

In the past month, the Seattle School Board approved the contract for construction of the classroom building addition, and site and off street improvements. The notice to proceed was issued to the contractor. Contractor mobilization began, and the immediate neighbors were notified of the impending construction start. Excavation and sewer pipe installation began.

Upcoming work includes continued clearing and grading of the site for the addition, and installation of the foundations for the new structure.
